Last long run before the race

Last long run before the race

Written: 2013-08-24, by Ola Silverplatz - Categories: The Road to Medoc

On Saturday I completed my last "longer" run before the race. I ran 21km and my knees felt ok the entire time. Good thing I got me some knee protection. The extra stability and warmth is great.
I have a feeling I will have a hard time running the entire race and I hope make it to the finishing line.

Mostly I have been running 5-7km. 4 times I have run 17km or longer but never longer than 24km.
Total training distance is aprox 300km. I hope it’s enough.

I have heard that MIB will have people posted at this years Medoc ;)

Some comments about the morphsuit:
It will be hot, as in warm.
The part covering the head can not stay up for long.
I need better sunglasses, a nice gun and a neuralyzer.
The suit leaves nothing for the imagination...better not be shy ;)

A few brave Oddvillers competed in "The Run" in Sunnersta, Uppsala. Ten clicks of steep hillclimbs and narrow forest paths was a perfect way to prepare for a summer packed with good ole running fun!

To get in shape for the upcoming race, I participated in some group Rock n Robics under the professional supervision of Kvelertak. The session included a few beers, a lot of jumping and lifting of sweaty norwegian men.

Tried 100m Ski Erg for the first time. I am pretty happy with my time 17.5 sek. I think I will be able to get better times when I figure out the best way to start and get practice on my technique. I was fun to try anyways and it’s the Ski erg is a great tool for exercise. /Ola

The vacation at Teneriffe was great. The food, weather and company were awesome. I am quite happy I managed five visits to the hotel gym during the week. As usual there were a lot of walking around and looking at stuff. Maybe that counts as training as well?! :)

Since the New Year started I have been focusing on loosing some weight and converting fat to muscles. Lost three kilos these two weeks.
I have been on a low carb diet and doing five training sessions each week. It has been mostly weight lifting and cross trainer at the gym. One week ago I ran 3 km dragging my doughter Alice on a sledge behind me. It was a nice workout and fun for Alice :)
